WELCOME

Opening Prayer:

The world offers busy schedules and more stuff to do, but God offers rest. The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not be in want! The world offers faster cars and bigger houses, but God offers comfort. The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not be in want! The world offers war and terror, but God offers protection. The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not be in want! The world offers cheap love and cheap thrills, but God offers goodness and The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not be in want!

Come now and let us dwell in the house of the Lord!

SPEAKER: Pastor Carlton Rhoden of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles

Opening Praise:

“Take My Hand, Precious Lord” – Ledisi

“Let Praises Rise” – Trey McLaughlin

Prayers of the People:

God,

You are enough for us; you give us rest in soft fields and beside whispering streams; you restore and renew us, and lead us into life-giving ways; When death and evil come close to us you carry us through, you protect and comfort us; when others seek to do us harm, your grace uplifts and provides for us in public view; you fill us with your strength and we enjoy overflowing abundance; We have confidence that your goodness and compassion will fill our days, and we will stay immersed in your life and presence forever.

Amen.

Offering Song:

“How Excellent” – Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir

Tithes and offerings:

Offertory Prayer:

Holy God, source of all good things, you have blessed your children with many gifts, and each of us can serve and help build your kingdom here on earth. We know at times we have denied our giftedness and dismissed the impact our gifts can have. As we ask you to dedicate our tithes and offerings today, we remind ourselves that you seek not only that we open our wallets but open our hearts and our whole being to the work of making your love and compassion the norm, not the exception in this world. We pray this in Christ’s name.

Amen.

Because you are the children of God, you are not the same people you once were. You have been restored, changed and redeemed. Go from this place with that understanding.
