On June 22, 2014, Diva and Gent Sing for Jesus hightlighted spectacular vocal abilities and also demonstrated the effects of a spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ. Enhanced by the impressive accompanists: Rev. Glenn L. Jones, Ms. Nell Walker, Mr. Peter Roberts, and Mr. Richard Turner, the six Divas and Gents sang a single story: Philura Williams opened with the confession that we need Jesus and must be willing to let God change our names. Then, Copelia Lightner reminded us that just a closer walk with Jesus is necessary spiritual food. Gary Rowland told about Jesus’ awesomeness from infancy and how the appropriate response is to wait for the Lord. Bradley Baker sang his request to have Jesus all day long. Then, sang an intercessory prayer from Les Misérables. Diane White-Clayton confessed that she is a “chil’ who-do-love-Jesus” because of His faithfulness. Frank Williams, Jr. reminded us that sometimes we can feel inadequate doing God’s will, but through Jesus we can still dream impossible dreams.
