Prayers of the People:

God of glory, we praise you for your presence in our lives and for all goodness that you shower upon us in Jesus Christ. Especially we praise and thank you for promises kept and hope for tomorrow, the enjoyment of friends, the joy of families, the wonders of your creation, those who have gone before us, love from our parents, sisters and brothers, love from our spouse and children, our faith and the church.

God of grace, remind us that we are all your children for we are brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ. We offer our prayers for those whom you love. Especially we pray for those we too often forget, people who have lost hope, those who mourn this day, those who suffer because of war, those who are lonely or sick, those who go hungry.

God of healing, come now to us with new strength to renew our grieving spirits. Help us to look into the future with confidence and assurance in Christ’s comforting love.

Amen!

Offertory Prayer:

Welcoming God, there are many who need your hospitality, many who yearn for a taste of your love and a drink of your life-giving water. Help us give of our resources and of ourselves with a most generous spirit. In our giving may we be welcomed as we have been welcomed through your love. May we be love to others as we give our gifts and share in your loving presence. In the name of Jesus.

Amen.

COMMUNION

“Love Ran Red” – Chris Tomlin

Call to Confession:

Let us in humility and contrition acknowledge and confess our sins toward God and one another.

Prayer of Confession:

Righteous God, we confess with sorrow that we often forget who has given us light, who has made our garden grow with waters of love. We forget your living word and move off your paths to serve our own worldly desires. We leave your cultivated field to venture out into the wilderness on our own. We quarrel with one another trying to decide “who is the greatest.” We make our own faces the benchmark for all faces. Help us to remember Jesus, reconciling the whole variegated world in himself.

Words of Assurance:

Thank you for calling us back, for never giving up on us when we turn aside, for always loving us, even when we forget who we are and who you are. We know you, as the greatest Gardener of all, who has promised always to replant us in flourishing fields.

CLOSING SONG

“Through It All Medley” – Andre Crouch and Cece Winans

Closing Prayer:

May the Good News of Jesus Christ go with us all. May we be light and life to all the world. May the risen Christ go with us and fill us with strength and courage. Share the faith, keep the promise, speak a kind word, share the gospel, and bring peace to the earth.

Amen.

We hope you enjoyed Virtual Sunday Worship.
