Shhh, Virtual Worship is Starting
Opening Prayer:
O God of our Hearts, You yearn to be so close to us that we can know you in every breath, in every hope, in every relationship. Meet us here today and teach us to recognize the covenant of justice, peace and love you have written on our hearts. So may our desires become your desires, our work become your work, and our community the place where you are sought and found. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Opening Hymn:
“Total Praise” by Richard Smallwood

Prayers of the People:
Suffering God, you told us to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Jesus. We’re still not sure we want to go that far. We had hoped that becoming followers in this day and age would be a more rational business; we had hoped to fit our religion in the spare corners of our lives. It wasn’t supposed to be an inconvenience. Yet you continue to call us, and we squirm uncomfortably. Teach us to respond gratefully to your invitation. Teach us to sacrifice — not only for others, but for you. And take what we can give right now, transforming it into an offering of our deepest selves. In your Son’s name we pray. Amen.
Offering Song:
“I Want Jesus To Walk With Me” by Moses Hogan

Offering Prayer:
O God, when you talk of faith in the Scriptures, you say that we need only but a little and we can do much. Deepen our faith. Help us to pray in full belief that you can do miracles. Help us to live, trusting that you are with us each step of the way. We know our faith will shake and falter, but continue to strengthen us and to let us see every moment that you are ever faithful. We know we can trust you. Help us to do just that. Amen.
