Shhh, Virtual Worship is Starting

Opening Prayer:

You, gracious God, are love itself, and perfect love casts out fear. Come to us in merciful patience, we pray, to love us from fear to trust, from anger to grace, from doubt to faith. Love us from our self-centeredness to hearts that willingly give themselves in selfless sacrifice and service. Love us out of our scarcity to hearts overflowing with generosity. Love us from brokenness to wholeness, from resentments and forgiveness withheld to forgiveness freely offered just as it has been freely offered to us. Come to us, Lord, overwhelming us with your love that we might love as you have first loved us.

  Amen.

Prayers of the People:

O Lord, we recognize that in this gathering of people, in a place like this, in times like these, there are those who are wounded, who are hurting and who are struggling with hopelessness. Lord Jesus, as you touched the hurting and healed the wounded, we pray that you would touch and heal us today. We pray for your healing of physical needs. We pray for your healing in emotional and spiritual brokenness. We beg your healing touch on fractured relationships. Mostly, though, we pray for faith … faith to wait and faith to stand up under the deeper hurt that often comes with your healing. Give us faith to trust your healing.

 Amen.

Offering Prayer:

Gracious God, even in times of hardship we recognize that you have given us so much to be grateful for. We return these tithes and offerings to you, knowing that all we have is ours through grace alone. Even when we have little to give, we possess everything in You. Help us to find ways to be generous every day, following the lead of your open-handed love that has withheld nothing from us, not even your only Son.  Amen.

HOLY COMMUNION

Call to Reconciliation:

We are good at rules: making them and then breaking them. Paul reminds us that, when we gain Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we receive exactly what we need – forgiveness, grace, hope. Let us confess our sins to God, that we might know God’s healing love for us!

Prayer of Confession:

     If we were to name all the gods we have before you, Rock of Redemption, we would be here a very long time. We elevate politicians into saviors, though they are as broken as we are. We misuse your name so much during the day, we have trouble speaking to you in prayer at night. We are so busy, we do not notice how creation witnesses to your goodness and grace.

     Forgive us, God our Hope. Help us to let go of what we value most, so we may open our emptiness, our hearts, our lives to the healing and loving presence of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Assurance of Pardon:

Persistently, patiently, lovingly, God pours out grace and joy into our lives,
healing our brokenness, forgiving our sin.
Loved, we are sent to love;
forgiven, we are freed to forgive;
graced, we can offer our gifts to everyone we meet.
Thanks be to God. Amen.

Thank You Jesus For The Blood” – Charity Gayle

CLOSING PRAYER

With the Lord, one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. The Lord is not slow about his promise, but is patient with you. As you go from God’s house today, be resolved to share God’s promises, be messengers of the Lord in all you say and do. And may God our Creator, Jesus the Christ, and the love of the Holy Spirit be with you always.
Amen.
