Welcome Message
HELLO! WELCOME TO WPC
Sunday, November 21st, 2021 – Get Sermon Text
Good morning, Thank you for choosing to join Westminster in our Zoom Worship service on this 3rd Sunday of November. Would you bow your heads as I pray our Opening Prayer.
(Please keep yourselves muted.)
Shhh, Virtual Worship is Starting
Opening Prayer:
Holy God, again and again we need to be reminded of our true home. The world continually tugs at us to believe that we belong here, that this is all there is, that hope and fulfillment can be found in what the world offers. We know the truth, Lord, but we forget. We know that you are the source of our life and breath. We know that every good gift we have comes from you. We know that in you we have redemption and forgiveness and are fully known and completely loved. Our true home is in you. Help us to remember. Help us to trust. Thank you for your grace and compassion that continually draw us back home. For the sake of Christ, we pray. Amen.
Opening Praise:
“Here I Am To Worship” (Mr. Matt Daley, Ms. Celeste Bembry, Mr. Tony St. James)

Prayers of the People:
God of great love, take hold of our hearts and let us sit here in the stillness of your presence as we turn our souls to you. Help us to be still … and discover the mystery of the living Christ within us. Inspire us to turn ourselves inside out in service to you. As we clean our homes, commute to our offices, work in our gardens, sit at our desks and answer our emails, may we honor you. As we read to our children, greet our neighbors, jog in the park and shop in the mall, may we honor you. At work or at play, take hold of our hearts, O God, and awaken us to the presence of your love. May your love spill over into our lives in such a way that it lightens the path and eases the burdens of each person we meet. We pray in the name of the one who came as the light of the world, as love incarnate, Jesus the Christ who taught us to say when we pray …. Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Offering Prayer:
Generous God, you have withheld no good gift from us, graciously pouring out your love, mercy, faithfulness, joy and peace. Thank you for giving us all that truly matters. CLOSING PRAYER
God of time and eternity:
We bless you for our hope in Christ Jesus and for his life in our lives.
In the week ahead, our relationships to family, possessions, work, and moods will demand our attention. Free us to love you with all our hearts and to love the world into what it is to become by your mercy and justice:
Let our love be genuine.
Let our affections be tempered with holiness.
Let our desires be shaped by the vision of a new heaven and a new earth.
Let our actions reflect the balance of love for your reign in all things.
Let our perceptions and feelings be ordered by the hope we have in Christ.
Amen.
We hope you enjoyed Virtual Sunday Worship.
