Virtual Worship

Shhh, Virtual Worship is Starting

Opening Prayer:

Gracious and loving God, as we prepare to begin a new year, help us to discern what it is that moves us. Open our eyes to see the needs of our community, open our ears to hear your call, and open our hearts to be filled by the Holy Spirit. Grant us the courage to use the gifts and talents you have blessed us with to do the work you have called us to. Build this community of faith, strengthening our bonds with one another and with you. Help us to support and encourage one another in our ministry. May all that we do praise you and be to your glory.   Amen.

Prayers of the People:

Holy God, you sent your Son to warm the darkness with light. We pray for all those who cannot see the light because they are afraid or are in too much pain — physically, spiritually or emotionally. May the power of your light search for cracks in which it might start to shine through. May all people know the healing power of your Word and grace. Continue to drive out the demons that taunt and torment us so we may be made whole.

We offer this prayer in the name of Immanuel, your Son Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Who taught us to pray:

Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

Offering Song:

Offering Prayer:

Gracious Spirit, you have showered us with your gifts, and we embrace you with thanksgiving. May our embrace be arms wide open, ready to share, to serve and to love. Use our spiritual gifts that we may live the spiritual life, moving according to the Spirit’s heated touch and bending in the direction of God’s holy will.  Amen.

CLOSING PRAYER

May God Almighty, Creator of the universe, the Alpha and Omega, the infant born to Mary, go with you. May this Child-God, fully dependent on others, remind us of the extent to which God will go to show love. May he also remind us that God is depending on us to care for and nurture all those whom he has placed in our lives.

Amen.
