WHAT IS REMIX YOUTH ACADEMY’S
SUMMER PROGRAM?

Remix Youth Academy is a 3-week summer program for youth, ages 14-19. The program is designed to help them develop their artistic talents and cultivate a relationship with Jesus Christ through bible study, prayer, fellowship, and service. Classes are available in music production, songwriting, art/graphic design, film production, and poetry/spoken word. The students will be given instruction daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Summer 2018. Each Friday there will be a local outreach project to serve our neighbors. At the end of the summer program there will be a final worship event where the students will present what they have created and share testimonies. The goal is for the students to grow in their relationship with God and utilize their creative gifts to glorify the creator!

Choose Your Class

Class Choices (Students will remain in one class for the duration of the Remix Youth Academy):
Music Production – Students will learn how to use Logic Pro X and create music tracks of different genres of music. Students will also learn basic music theory and song structure.

Film Production – Students will learn how to operate Canon t5i cameras, H4n Zoom recorders, and Final Cut Pro X software. Students will work as a team to create music videos, and interviews.

Song Writing – Students will learn basic music theory and song composition. Students will also learn how to create songs of different musical genres and collaborate.

Art/Graphic Design – Students will develop basic artistic skills in drawing and painting. Students will also learn how to create and manipulate their art in Adobe Photoshop.

Spoken Word/Poetry – Students will develop basic creative writing skills. Students will also develop stage performance and memorization techniques.

Tuition/Camp Fee: $99.00 / Four Weeks (Your fee helps cover food and administrative costs).

I understand the photos and video will be used to keep a journal of activities, to share during power point presentations and/or reports to our donors and for promotional purposes including flyers, brochures, newspaper and on the internet. I understand that although my child’s photograph may be used for advertising, his or her identity will not be disclosed, I do not expect compensation and that all photos are the property of Remix Youth Academy and Westminster Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles.
