Shhh, Virtual Worship is Starting

Opening Prayer:

Holy God, you are deserving of the very best we have to offer — the devotion of our hearts, the place of honor in our priorities and the first fruits of our labors. We enter this place and space of worship, asking you to be in our midst, to speak your message of love and mercy, conviction and challenge to us. We welcome your Spirit, knowing that in so doing, we abandon control and open ourselves in faith and trust to your purposes and plan, rather than our own. Come, Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer, we pray and may our worship be acceptable in your sight.    Amen!

SPEAKER: Pastor Carlton Rhoden of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles

Opening Hymn:

Blessed Assurance” No. 508
led by Ms. Celeste Bembry and Mr. Matt Daley

Prayers of the People:

Gracious God, I ask for prayer today for this community. There are many hurts and sorrows. There are many joys and celebrations. You know them all and we are thankful. For those who are hurting, please bring great healing and peace. For those who are celebrating, we give you glory for your gifts and provisions. God, may these people know without a doubt that they belong to you and that they are precious in your sight. I ask that we may use our joys and sorrows as a testimony of your work in our lives. Thank you for seeing us, for hearing us, for knowing us. In your holy name.    Amen!

Offering Song – Led by Ms. Celeste Bembry and Mr. Matt Daley

Glory Glory Hallelujah”  No. 500

Offering Prayer:

One way we express our faith is by how we use the resources that have been entrusted to us. God, through this act of worship — through the giving of the fruit of our labor —we declare our faith in your loving care. Lord, search our hearts, and if we are giving for reasons other than for the worship of you, if we are giving expecting a return, if we are giving out of a sense of wrath, please help us root out this evil. Help us be faithful disciples in all aspects of our lives.

Amen.

May Jesus Christ always stand before you with an invitation to know him and to follow him;

And may the love of this community be like a warm cloak to shield you from despair and keep you strong in hope.
